Description
The TRS is a two plate, linear, hydraulically driven ladle slide gate.
The two refractory plates are identical in shape and size and can be exchanged in a very short time. This is done by opening the movable frame over a hinge on the housing. After that, the plates can be exchanged, and the frame is closed back into normal working position.
During replacement, the plates are hold in position with a set of magnets, then the system can be closed, and the activation of the hydraulic cylinder allows to move the slider inside the frame and engage the tensioning elements integrated into the housing.
The design of the plates and distribution of the tensioning elements is studied to allow for a perfect contact of the refractories and guarantees a leak-free operation.
The operation of the system during casting is made through the use of an hydraulic cylinder installed on the casing platform and is designed to guarantee perfect alignment between the casting holes.
The TRS series is a compact and innovative ladle gate concept designed in 3 different sizes, to allow installation in ladles of capacities from 15ton to 250ton.
The door opening, using only one hydraulic cylinder, allows a trouble-free access to the refractory components and the tensioning elements, and guarantees a safe operation without the need of additional tools to the operators, reducing maintenance times and increasing safety.
Maintenance
The TRS series of slide gates is designed for ease of operation and maintenance.
Each component can be easily replaced in case of damage, without the need to substitute the entire slide gate or, as ofetn happens, the most expensive parts.
The springs are well protected from the heat and generally do not require any maintenace during the operation of the gate, because they are localed in a cooler area and thus, are not subject to heavy deformations.
Option air cooling system can be installed, to further reduce the temperature in the springs packs.
Opening and closing of the gate is executed through the single maintenance cylinder, which has a longer stroke compared to the operating cylinder.
